HF Power Limited, a subsidiary company of Energyprima Limited and a concern of Hosaf Group, was established in 2017 as a Public Limited Company with the objective of setting up power plants in Bangladesh to supply electricity under rental or Independent Power Producer (IPP) basis. The company's formation was driven by the pressing challenge of power shortage in Bangladesh, stemming from the country's rapid economic growth, urbanization, industrialization, and developmental needs that led to an increasing demand for electricity.
In response to this critical issue, Hosaf Group made significant contributions to the power generation sector through the establishment of Energyprima Limited in 2008 and HF Power Limited in 2017. These endeavors aimed at tackling the acute power crisis in the country and aligning with the Government's vision of achieving "Electricity for all by 2021." Notably, HF Power Limited was awarded a 113 MW HFO Fired IPP power plant project by the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) for a 15-year period in Chowmuhani, Begumganj, Noakhali, Bangladesh, which commenced supplying electricity to the national grid on 31st December 2019, further contributing to the national economy.
